The understanding of this religion called Christianity results in the following conditions in the individual:
- Theoretical Understanding of God. Belief is a subjective pie-in-the-sky theology. Belief is a historical event. There is only a metaphorical understanding of the Holy Spirit. Believing is defined only as that which lacks evidence. Doing affirms belief. I do Christian things, so therefore I am a Christian.
- Locational Experience of God. We believe God exists everywhere and that He lives inside of us, but yet we have to go to a certain place to experience God. We confuse emotion with spirituality and correlate that the higher the emotion, the more we sense the presence of God.
- Situational Expressions of God. The above understanding and experience is validated and is proven by a pluralistic expression of behavior. Who we are on the inside is different from who we are on the outside. Who we are inside the church is different from who we are inside our homes and offices. Who we are when people are around is different from who we are when we are alone. When trouble comes, we question God. When good comes, we affirm God. The law of the land supersedes the lifestyle of Jesus. The individual decides when, where, and how to express a godly identity.
So what is the biblical differentiator? Is Christianity all about a historical belief?
